Homework for Tonight:
Reading:
*Find your favorite spot to read and get lost in your book. Read for a minimum of 30 minutes, but remember if you want to keep going you can. Don’t forget to step on the breaks every once in a while and think while you read. Remember to make sure you fill out your log with accurate information.
*Don’t forget about your readers notebook and using it to write long once in a while when reading at home, writing about your reading should not take more than 5-7 minutes per entry.(at least 3 different nights per week- don’t forget the important labeling on the top of your writing: Date, H for home writing and title of the book) Notebooks are placed in the bins on the following mornings Monday # 1-5, Tuesday # 6-11, Wednesday # 12-16 & Thursday# 17-21.
* Book Club Assignments (decided by the book clubs due Monday 1/30/12- Students had 30 minutes in class to begin this assignemnt )
The Big Yellow Bookmarks: Read Chapters 3-4, write 3 post its to help you get ready to talk with the group, If finish early read/find facts about the time period (Great Depression)
Red Reading Cherries: Read Chapters 3, Pick one sentce or more to write long about , If finish early read/find facts about the time period(Pre & Post Civil War)
Purple Bookworms: Read Chapters 4-5, Write long about the reading, If finish early read/find facts about the Time Period (Westward Expansion)
Page Flippers: Read Chapters 2-4, Write long about one character from the book, If finish early read/find facts about the time period (Revolutionary War)
Math:
*Complete and fill in you Math Log for tonight’s assignment
- Find “Sign In” in the top right hand corner of your screen and click on it
- Put in your username and password -
- Username is the first letter of your first name followed by your last name . For example: lmoore would be my username
- Password is the same for everyone it is moore (no capital letter)
- When you are signed in you will see a list of different activities that are assigned for you to do
- Try some of the different games
Instead of a playing random math games at home you will start this week with a Math HW/Aracademic Skill Builder Log- practicing some of these math games will be part of your daily homework.
