ROYLE SALUTES OUR AMERICAN HEROES
This week Royle’s Veterans Day celebration will be getting into full swing. Thank you to all those that have submitted someone to “Our Wall of Heroes.” Our hall will be decorated with all of your honorees on Wednesday. Make sure to pop in and take a peak. If you still have not made a submission, it’s not too late but please do so by Monday 11/2.
On Monday 11/9 and Tuesday 11/10 students will be writing to and/or coloring pictures to soldiers currently serving overseas (K-4), or to retired Veterans (Gr. 5) to thank them for their service.
On Veterans Day 11/11, the entire school community will congregate outside the front entrance of the school for a Veterans Day ceremony. Included will be the raising of the flag to honor our very own Royle Veterans, a school-wide Pledge of Allegiance, some patriotic songs, as well as some speeches. The ceremony commences at 8:45. Please join us if you are able to. We ask that students come to school dressed in “dignified” red, white and blue. It is not considered a “Spirit Day” but the observance of a solemn holiday.
Thank you again for all of your support. We are looking forward to another successful Veterans Day celebration here at Royle. Questions – Please contact Lorraine Keleghan (662-9733) or Jennifer Durkin (655-6714).
